2000 ISUZU VehiCROSS
The name “VehiCROSS” appears to be trying to present this manly machine as the practical equal of a cross-training shoe, and in fact, it does have the right mechanical credentials for serious on-road and off-road driving. The car’s audacious style is, without a doubt, the most outstanding feature of the vehicle. The 2000 Isuzu VehiCROSS has an air of Star Wars about it as if Darth Vader himself was responsible for its creation.
Performance and Fuel Economy
The Isuzu VehiCROSS is equipped with a direct-injection, DOHC V6 engine that generates 215 horsepower and a 3.5-liter displacement. Additionally, it has a four-speed automatic gearbox with power and winter settings.
The Isuzu front double-wishbone torsion bar and rear four-link coil suspensions are improved by an extruded aluminum shock absorber with an associated expansion chamber. This innovation provides increased durability and excellent shock cooling and is the first industry. The truck’s vented front disc brakes measure 11 inches, and the rear disc brakes measure 12.3 inches, allowing it to stop on difficult roads despite having new 18-inch alloy wheels and upgraded steel-belted radial tires.

It also has several technological advancements, including a limited-slip differential, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, and a sophisticated Torque-On-Demand (TOD) four-wheel-drive system. The TOD system found on the Isuzu Trooper is also found on the Isuzu Mu-X, and it is responsible for sensing the driving conditions and adjusting the torque balance between the front and rear wheels. This allows the vehicle to switch from having the only rear-wheel drive to having 50/50 all-wheel drive in milliseconds.
Interior Design
The flamboyance is carried through to the inside. Imagine what it would be like if the Jetsons wore saddle shoes and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what the inside, which is red and black leather, looks like. Not only do the Recaro seats provide a comfortable level of firmness while also enhancing the aesthetic statement made by the VehiCROSS, but they also have complete bolsters that keep you anchored in place.
The door panels, which are made to seem like carbon fiber, lend even more credence to this assertion. Particularly intriguing to us was the instrument panel and, in particular, how the graphics on the speedometer and tachometer turned to a high-contrast amber when the panel was lighted up at night. There is a lot of space for both heads and legs in the back seats. However, some back riders have complained that the view is restricted, like looking out a porthole at the globe.

Interior fails
We do have a few complaints regarding the internal arrangement, including how it seems that more design innovation was put into making the space look nice than into making it functional. We were surprised to find that this SUV had no practical storage space despite its considerable internal space. Having more compartments and storage spaces for personal items would be helpful. Additionally, the radio button controls are really little. The door handle on the inside of the door is uncomfortable, while the door handle on the outside is difficult to grasp and will separate from your hand if you are in too much of a hurry. And despite our best efforts, we were unable to find a way to open the tailgate without the key.

Exterior Concerns
A poor view in the back can be considered a more severe issue. Because the aperture in the rear hatchback isn’t very large, to begin with, and the spare tire blocks the middle of the window, it’s possible that you won’t be able to see a vehicle that’s following closely behind you that’s far more compact. This issue is dealt with in two different ways by the Japanese version of the 2000 VehiCROSS: To begin, as is customary in Japan, the side view mirrors are not attached to the doors but rather to the vehicle’s fenders. A little camera that records the image behind the vehicle and displays it on a monitor situated in the middle of the dashboard is an even more effective safety device. We hope that that is a function included in the model sold in the United States.
