2018 Lincoln MKX

You can choose from various options for the 2018 MKX’s interior and exterior design. Free vehicle washes and yearly detailing are included in the Black Label package. Except for a few new paint colors and a few new applications for its Sync 3 infotainment system, the 2018 Lincoln MKX is almost unchanged. The MKX’s interior is luxurious and accommodating for up to four people. Synthetic leather covers the basic MKX Premiere trim level seats, while genuine leather is available on the MKX Select and above. However, the most modern safety technology, like automated emergency braking, is only available on the Reserve and Black Label trim levels, where it is packaged with additional collision-avoidance gear at a premium price. Almost all of our competitors have it as standard equipment.

Overview:

The 2018 LINCOLN MKX is offered in 4 trim levels:

  • Premiere: 6-Speed A/T
  • Select: All Wheel Drive
  • Reserve: 20 combined MPG
  • Black Label: 19 combined MPG

Performance and Fuel Economy

Its 3.7-liter twin-independent Variable Camshaft Timing V6 makes 303 horsepower and 278 lb of torque and is connected to a 6-speed SelectShift® automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. The EPA estimates 25 MPG on the interstate and 17 MPG in the city due to this modification. Electric Power-Assisted Steering is a feature that makes driving easier in low-speed conditions like parking lots and more difficult in high-speed situations like driving on the highway. Active Noise Control analyzes the interior sound profile and uses an opposing sound wave to counter unpleasant audio to eliminate undesired engine noise.

Design

The 2018 MKX is greeted with illuminated headlights and luminous door pockets as soon as you arrive. As you approach the car, even the welcome mat glows. The split-wing front grille, which integrates into the headlamps, is an integral design feature, and the side mirrors fold automatically. The Canadian Touring Package comes with various wheel choices, including 21-inch premium painted brilliant machined aluminum wheels.

Driver Comfort and Storage

There is plenty of room for a tablet or a purse in the 2018 Lincoln MKX’s sleek center console, which puts the driver at the center of attention. Make extra room in your trunk by folding the second row down. The front seats may be either heated or cool to keep you and your passengers warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Three drivers may each have their own set of memory settings for the power seats, making it easier to use your car as a family vehicle. The Bridge of Weir leather seats and modern wood trim create a refined atmosphere in the contemporary and stylish area.

Owner’s Manual

Included with the vehicle, owner’s found an original 2018 Lincon MKX owner’s manual set. Some of the topics that are covered in the operator manual include:

  • Introduction
  • Overview
  • Operation
  • Maintenance
  • Troubleshooting

Each owner’s manual contains all the required information for future maintenance, vehicle operation, and features. While this list is thorough, the owner’s manual for the 2018 LINCOLN MKX provides more operational suggestions to enhance the user experience.

Exterior Design

The 2018 MKX, based on the Ford Edge’s chassis and engines, looks nothing like the Ford. The MKX has a sensual, curvaceous form with subtle chrome accents. However, Lincoln has moved away from the huge twin-wing grille on its Continental flagship, which takes up a lot of space. Because of the large dash forms and little use of cut lines, the MKX’s interior is more visually appealing than Ford’s. Notably absent is a gear lever, an interesting ergonomic oddity that appears to address a question no one has asked. Instead, the transmission is controlled via buttons on the central stack.

Seating

Front seats in all MKX grades are heated and powered, although 22-way massage thrones may be added to higher-end models. Seats in the 22-way configuration are so fantastic that we’d install them in our living room if we had the space. There is a lot of legroom in row two, but the bench is too flat. Second-row heated seats are available as an add-on. 37 cubic feet with the second row upright and 73 cubes when folded flat are available for cargo. Because the MKX is the same size as several three-row competitors but only seats five people, it has a lot of room. The MKX is a good choice if you don’t require additional space.
