They offer a range of vehicles, such as that ranging from 2 door small sedans to big SUVs, all keeping their name high in sports. Under this, Porsche is entering its fifth anniversary of production through its charming sports car, the 2001 Porsche Boxster.

The Porsche Boxster is designed especially for fun-loving people who like challenges to go for fast and trilled rides with undivided attention. It is a convertible two-door car. Thus it can easily move along constrained spaces without any hindrances. Its small shape also makes it obviously more fast and easy to handle. This car is perfect for daily university/office use. And its convertible feature adds into its own class.

Trims and price

It has two trims. Thus not much to choose from. But the trims themselves are of extreme difference that only two of them are enough. What stays the same are the highlighted convertible features of this small sedan.

The 2001 Porsche Boxster base model was worth $42,100. It comes with a 2.7l flat-6 engine that has the ability to produce about 217hp @ 6,400 rpm with a combined torque of 4,750 rpm. It has a standard 5-speed manual transmission. This shows that the base model seems to give excellent mileage as well as power. This model has a class of its own and surely is the best for daily commutes. What it lacks are the features that were made present in the other model.

The secondary model of the Porsche Boxster S-model is worth $50,200. It comes with a 3.2 l, 6-cylinder engine that has the ability to produce up to 250 horsepower and combines with a 6-speed gearbox. this is where this trim stands out from the base model, it has a more powerful engine thus gives comparatively lesser mileage than that of the base model. The best part is, It has standard equipment like side airbags, anti-lock brakes, and traction control which especially in sedans at this age were impossible to even think of. But as always, Porsche never compromises on its safety and comfort.

Competitors

Not many cars are able to compete with Porsche since its product are undoubtedly of utmost quality and supremacy. But looking around, The Honda S2000, Audi TT, the 2002 BMW Z3, and the 2002 Jaguar XK8 are its rivals in the market. The toughest competition is given by Audi TT. But that too fails when it comes to Boxster’s specs and build quality.
