Debut

Chrysler started manufacturing minivans in the year 1984 and around six years later in the year 1990, it introduced its first-ever Town and Country minivan. This was the first vehicle of Chrysler that offered upscale features. Moreover, its fifth-generation model came in the year 2008 making it the oldest vehicle of Chrysler to be present till this date. After that, came the 2014 model and in 2016 Chrysler stopped the production of this model.

In 2014, Chrysler celebrated the 30th anniversary of its Town and Country minivan with the launch of the 2012 new model. Its added features include 17 inches aluminum wheels having polished faces, badges of its 30th anniversary, and options available for Granite Crystal Pearl Coat paint.   

Price

The manufacturer’s selling price of this 2014 model is around $32,000 and goes to $43,000 for upper trim models. The variants come with different added features such as better transmission, fuel mileage, structure, interior and exterior colors, engine, and other packages which adds to the price of the basic model. However, this model is now mostly available as a used car as it is an old model and no longer in production. Limited

This variant of the 2014 Town and Country is loaded with advanced features hence, has a higher price tag of $41,295. The features of this model include, Nappa company’s leather upholstery with suede inserts, a 9-speaker stereo surround audio system, instead of the standard 6-speaker audio system, USB port, keyless entry in the vehicle and engine start, heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats, high-intensity lights, navigation system, standard safety features, and memory in-glass turning signals.

Option Packages    

 The options packages for this model include load leveling rear suspension, a Trailer Tow group that has a heavy-duty engine with more transmission speed. This package costs $850 to $1000. For the Touring L variant, the option of a 9 inches entertainment screen is available that would cost you around $995. Moreover, wireless headphones, USB ports, and a 115-volt outlet for charging phones are also available. Talking about the safety features, if you want additional safety features to be safer, Chrysler also offers a safety package that includes rai-sensitive wipers, tire pressures display, blind spot and cross path detection system, and automatic high-beam lights control.

Performance:

Town and Country has a 3.6-liter V6 engine that gives 283 horsepower which is quite good for a minivan and puts it in line with the competition with Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. Although it does not provide a very speedy drive, it is a good option for big family journeys. The ride is smooth and peaceful with no engine noise making it the best one in its class of vehicles.
