2016 Porsche Cayenne

After a major overhaul in 2015, Cayenne’s 2016 updates are quite moderate. A high-performance Turbo S variant has been added in terms of additional features, as has a rear-seat entertainment system. Porsches have long been out of reach for the average person who wants a luxury automobile but can’t afford one. The 2016 Porsche Cayenne altered all that when it debuted. The new model is both sportier and more functional than ever before. Despite its Porsche logo, this midsize SUV performs everything you’d expect from a vehicle in its class.

Overview:

The 2016 PORSCHE CAYENNE is offered in 6 trim levels:

  • Turbo
  • Base
  • Diesel
  • Turbo S
  • S
  • GTS

Performance and Fuel Economy

The 2016 Porsche Cayenne is the SUV to choose if you want to experience the rush of a racetrack. The standard Cayenne has a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 300 horsepower. Aside from that, there are six additional engines to choose from. The most powerful engine in the Cayenne Turbo S is a 4.8L twin-turbo V8 that produces 570 horsepower. Even the most ardent speed freaks will be pleased with the engine’s 0-to-60 time of 3.8 seconds (as stated by the manufacturer when the car was new).

The Cayenne Diesel was the most fuel-efficient vehicle in the lineup when it went on sale. A month later, Porsche said that the Cayenne Diesel’s 3.0-liter diesel engine had been unlawfully fooled past emissions testing, and the company had withdrawn this model from the US market. If you’ve got one of those engines, you’re out of luck. The S E-Hybrid is the second-best option for city driving. It is rated at 21 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the open road. The overall MPGe rating for electric, hybrid, and gas-only driving in E-Hybrid vehicles is 47 MPGe, with a range of 14 miles on electric power alone.

Design, Comfort, and Quality

SUVs have become the new go-to option for family errands, but the Porsche Cayenne is a midsize SUV with a sporty edge. GTS trim will give you a racing-like experience. It’s impossible to ignore the GTS’ attention-getting features when out on a simple shopping run, thanks to the car’s aggressive aerodynamics, lowered suspension, or sporty exhaust sound.

The 2016 Cayenne is a sporty, slick utility vehicle, but its shape still has some of the 911’s curviness. Even though it’s adept off-road, its design lacks ruggedness. It is a long cry from Porsche’s classic sports car designs, such as the famous 911, but it has just enough elegance and panache to make up for its size and form. Because the hood is longer than on some other crossover models, you’ll notice this. If just in the grille and front fascia of Porsche’s SUVs and sports cars, there has been an increase in stylistic coherence over the last several years.

Some are subtle, while others are more egregious—and they all serve to distinguish the many Cayenne variants. The S E-Hybrid sports the neon-green trim standard on Porsche’s electrified fleet, covering the brake calipers and badging in the difficult-to-miss color. The Turbo variant gets the most aggressive fascias and detailing.

Despite the perception that Porsche is a sports car manufacturer, it is, in fact, a premium brand. Although it’s no slouch in any of its higher-performance variants, the Cayenne remains one of the brand’s best luxury presentations. Sport seats in the front are supportive and comfy. There shouldn’t be a problem for drivers of different shapes and sizes to acquire a good position with good visibility and a low window line. More adjustability and ventilation are just two of Porsche’s front-seat enhancements. Seats in the back of the vehicle may be shifted forward and backward by more than six inches if you’re prepared to sacrifice some luggage room. Leather and Alcantara inserts may also be added to the seats.
