Value

This diesel locomotive surely is expensive, because of its obvious big size, heavy-duty engine, drive and other factors which make its price higher than expected. But the main question here is, is it worth the stated price? The answers by users are a big Yes! The price may be more, but how this truck regardless of its heavy engine ensures a smooth and less noisy ride. The Ford Super Duty is excellently and rather stylishly built, ensuring a class of its own. The interior of it is exquisite, providing a luxury of its own. Which, usually is not common in such kinds of trucks. The peculiar mixture of power with luxury is what truly makes this super-duty heavy truck worth its price.

Price

Pricing, as discussed earlier as well, is high as well. Its excellent high-built metallic huge body is perfect for off-roading and even for any such hardcore processes that are seemed almost impossible by normal cars these days. Not just this, its Turbo-Diesel V8 Engine surely adds more to the pricing factors as usually seen, cars with such heavy engines are expensive. Towing around 24,000 pounds or 10,000kg is not a very easy task. For this very reason, the price of this turbo truck starts from $24,085 and goes to almost $63,070. The reason for high pricing and variations is the availability of many trim levels. Also, this price when compared with other trucks may be higher, but it sure is worth every penny.

Trim Levels

The 2011 Ford F Super Duty comes in many trim levels. The prices vary along with it. The three types of trim levels are the Ford F-250 being the highest, followed by the Ford F-350 and Ford F-450 being the best of its trim levels. The worth of these trucks is as follows;

Trim LevelsStarting MSRP
F-250$44,985
F-350$41,145
F-450$54,400

The main price variation is firstly caused by the engine type. The F-250 and F-350 are Flex-fuel (FFV) engine types whereas the F-450 is a pure diesel engine type. The F-250 seems to have a 2,790 lbs. payload capacity that might be lower than that of the F-350, but what is exciting and adds to the cost feature of the F-250 is its Passenger Seat with Power Adjustable Lumbar Support. This is rather a new feature and surely makes the F-250 more worthy of its price.

The F-450 sure does stand out in all of the trim levels of this heavy-duty super truck. It has a high fuel tank capacity of 37.5 gallons. Not just this, it tends to be more powerful providing 400 HP @ 2,800 rpm horsepower and 800 lb-ft @ 1,600 rpm Torque. For which its towing capacity increases to 16,000 lbs. with a maximum payload capacity of 4,920 lbs. The interior of this truck is equipped with 4 -Way Manual Driver Seat Adjustments and a 4 -Way Manual Passenger Seat Adjustment.

Regardless of its heavy-duty engines and other truck alike features, this truck does not compromise on its comfort and safety. It is equipped with cruise control and other smooth drive features that make it a noiseless relieving drive.

Owner’s Manual

The 2011 Ford F-Super Duty Owners Manual covers the specs, operation, and routine maintenance of the vehicle. Original Super Duty Owners Manual prints as they were found in the vehicle are also available. You can also find owner manuals, repair manuals, and parts catalogs for your model online.

What’s new?

Considering the overall features of this truck, there are very few changes in its overall appearance.  Some are there which cannot be negated. Starting from its façade, the bumper has changed its shape, and so have its headlights and other nose-like features. Its front grill now has 3 bars, as earlier also seen in the Super Chief concept, Ford unveiled at the Detroit auto show in 2006, with a far bigger Blue Oval upfront. With a more pronounced dome, the hood has been refreshed.

Looking into the interior of this heavy truck, in the gauge cluster area, a 4.2inch LCD has been installed that displays trailer brake control gain, an inclinometer, fuel economy, trailer data, and more, and even can be customized to show whatever the customer may require. There is also a flow-through control that includes two 12-volt power points and a 110-volt inverter. All of this when combined surely makes this super truck stand out from the rest.

Competitors

The two main competitors to consider against this truck are the Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn and GMC Sierra 2500 HD.

The Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn is priced at nearly $50,000 but fails to compete with the Ford F- Super Duty when it comes to Towing and other rough and tough features. The Ram is more luxurious than powerful, but since Ford offers ample power and luxury, it sure is a better choice.

Similarly, the GMC Sierra 2500 HD too lies behind in performance as well as interior but wins when it comes to price that is $28,500 and $28,000 roughly.
