Since the manufacturer produced the FXR2 and FXR3 in 1999, Harley-Davidson has extended the program to encompass motorcycles throughout their whole range, replete with all the bells and whistles. The CVO Limited joined the CVO bike lineup in 2016, and this tour-tastic sled gives the term “full dresser” a whole new meaning. The Limited, like other CVO models, comes with several regularly used extras and top-shelf features already bolted up, so ambitious do-it-yourselfers will be halfway to their objective straight off the showroom floor. Welcome to the 2016 Harley CVO Screamin Eagle.

The 2016 HARLEY DAVIDSON CVO SCREAMIN EAGLE is offered in three trim levels:

Performance and Fuel Economy

The phrase “power-cruiser” is tossed about a lot these days, and why: cruisers with more than 100 pound-feet of torque need to be distinguished from the ordinary. With that in mind, maybe we could classify this ride as a “power-tourer,” since the CVO Limited certainly qualifies. Sure, the chrome-on-black mill is eye candy, and it serves as the crown gem, but it’s not just another beautiful face.  This is Harley’s 110 cubic-inch (1,801 cc) powertrain, already loaded with Screamin’ Eagle yummy-goodness, and it produces a crushing 115.1 pound-feet of torque at a measly 3,750 rpm with Harley’s most definitive fifth-gear roll-on ever. As previously said, power tourer all the way.

Design, Comfort, and Quality

Over the decades, Harley-Davidson has long established its fundamental bagger design, and the Limited follows the family line while adding its genetic heritage to the mix. Not only that, but it takes things from the famed Project Rushmore program, which was based on the wishlists of Harley riders all across the globe; thus, it comes with a laundry list of features that puts this sled at the very top of the available options this year.

Harley’s Airflow Collection adorns it with a few extras, and the hand-laid accent stripes guarantee that each unit is one-of-a-kind. The sheet metal is shot in colors that are new for the 2016 Harley Davidson CVO Screamin Eagle and combinations exclusive to the CVO Limited. With its 102.4-inch overall length, it is far from a little bike, yet it still manages to seem hefty and slightly compacted with a scant 64 inches between axles, nearly the same as its smaller Big-Twin brethren, but with so much more crammed in between. The Rushmore-inspired Splitstream vent on the batwing fairing decreases head buffeting when riding, while the lower fairings break the wind off the rider’s legs.

Amenities Abound

The rider interface for Harley’s information and entertainment technology is a 6.5-inch color touch screen. On the information front, the monitor shows a GPS map with 3-D landmarks and buildings and data from the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which enables you to keep an eye on that essential statistic without the need for a pressure gauge or muddy knees.

Harley-Davidson’s BOOM! The Box 6.5GT audio system has four 6.5-inch speakers that can play music from an AM/FM receiver, Sirius satellite radio, music files saved on your smartphone or other devices (SD card, flash drive, MP3), and XM traffic/weather services. Everything you need to escape horrible traffic, poor weather, and that annoying tune stuck in your mind.
