Overview:

The 2018 CADILLAC CTS is offered in 6 trim levels:

  • AWD: 24 combined MPG
  • Luxury AWD: 22 combined MPG
  • Premium Luxury AWD: 8-Speed A/T
  • RWD: 25 combined MPG
  • V-Sport Premium Luxury RWD: 19 combined MPG
  • V-Sport RWD: Rear Wheel Drive

Performance and Fuel Economy

Under the hood, the CTS and ATS have a lot of similarities. A 268-horsepower turbo-4 powers base version. It has a maximum torque of 295 pound-feet and can drive either the rear wheels or all four wheels when running on premium petrol. The changes are easy with the 8-speed automatic, but the turbo-4 has adequate acceleration (0-60 mph in 6 seconds) but a dreadful sound that active noise suppression can’t quite hide.

An AWD model of the turbo-4 sedan achieves 21/29/24 mpg city/highway/combined on the EPA’s test cycle, while a front-wheel-drive model achieves 22/30/25 mpg. With all-wheel drive, the V-6 gets 20/30/24 mpg. The Vsport gets 16/24/19 mpg in the city and highway. Despite its active grille shutters and stop/start system, the CTS is marginally better than vehicles like the A6 and the S90 in terms of power and efficiency. A plug-in hybrid version of the CT6 is Cadillac’s exclusive choice.

Design

The Cadillac CTS’ long, slender proportions are accentuated by linear components, such as the feature line that runs unbroken from the headlights to the taillamps. The low ride height of the CTS helps the car’s world-class handling. The interior design of the Cadillac CTS is focused on making the driver’s experience as enjoyable as possible by integrating technology and hand-crafted embellishments. The asymmetrical layout of the buttons and displays emphasizes the driver squarely in this comfortable and convenient interior. Authentic materials and polished facilities offer it a unique personality in the market.

Comfort

As you sit down, 20-way seats in the front provide support for every part of you. The sunroof on most models barely reduces headroom by a few millimeters, ensuring long-distance comfort. More space is freed up in the rear seat. Compared to a Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the 35.4 inches of back legroom available to passengers isn’t quite as substantial. If you don’t make a swift duck maneuver, the low roofline will hit you square in the face. To achieve a large and slender design, the seat cushions are somewhat lower than the rest of the furniture. Because of active noise suppression for the turbo-4, the 2018 Cadillac CTS is quiet. From the enormous 12.3-inch gauge screen to the exquisite semi-aniline (more natural) leather, the CTS’ top-model interior detailing leaves us speechless.

Technology

At least three USB connections and a Bluetooth music streaming system are included with the basic CTS’s power features, cruise control, rearview camera, and parking sensors. The CUE infotainment system and an 8.0-inch touchscreen round out the list of standard features. CUE’s gesture controls and zoom-and-pinch panels first amazed us, but the system now lags and requires more processing power.

Interior Luxuries

Leather seats, a motorized tilt-and-telescope steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof are included in CTS Luxury cars. Options include a rearview camera mirror, adaptive shocks, and 18-inch wheels. The V-6 is standard on the Premium model, including a head-up display, automated temperature control, and a 12.3-inch high-definition instrument cluster.

Safety Features

Radar, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors are among the available advanced safety technologies to safeguard people before, during, and after a crash. Enhance the driver’s awareness of road dangers and aid in averting possible collisions using safety features.
