2018 MERCEDES GLC-CLASS

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class strikes the ideal mix between luxury, performance, and professional workmanship, and it does it within the framework of a sporty SUV that can accommodate 5 passengers. Performance and Fuel Economy

The Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC® powertrain is standard on all models except the GLC 300. Additionally, the GLC 350e is the sole vehicle that uses a seven-speed automatic gearbox; the other models use a nine-speed automatic transmission. The GLC 300 comes standard with a turbocharged inline-four-cylinder engine that displaces 2.0 liters and produces 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. When equipped with RWD, it achieves a fuel economy of 22/28 mpg in the city/highway, but upgrading to 4MATIC reduces it to 21/28 mpg. Design

The 2018 GLC-Class is one of five SUVs produced by Mercedes-Benz and is part of the family business. There is no single Benz hair out of place on the car, thanks to the soft curves, lengthy roofline, and huge star on the grille. We have a little preference for the traditional crossover body type compared to the other two available body designs. The so-called Coupe type has some beautiful looks, but the sharply sloping rear roof reduces the storage space available. This is similar to how BMW’s X4 is a step down from its first-generation X3. The perspective is almost the same in either scenario when seen from the front.

Exterior

The outside of the GLC is quite similar in appearance to the bigger GLE. The fenders mark a shift in the proportions, becoming lower and less prominent in their function. The GLE has a more pronounced profile, but we find the understated profile of the GLC to be more endearing. In addition, there is a certain voluptuousness lacking in both the X3 and the Q5. The smaller Mercedes GLK eventually blossomed into the larger and more stunning Mercedes GLC as it gained size and power. The enormous differences between the two vehicles are immediately apparent when entering either vehicle. It is now more capacious, attractive, and functional, and it is only somewhat smaller than other mid-size SUVs like the X5, the RX, and even Benz’s GLE Class.

Interior

The driver of the GLC receives a commanding perspective of the road, but they don’t have to sit quite as high on the vehicle as they would in the larger and taller GLE Class. The windscreen is positioned low, and the seats have a distinctively contoured form, both of which contribute to the sensation of being inside a vehicle. The standard seats do not have particularly large side bolsters, but they do provide a wide range of adjustability options and thigh support that may be extended. They are coated in synthetic leather in the cheapest versions; for $40,000, vegan-friendly or ballsy, take your choice. The performance seats found in AMG GLC vehicles are gripping and manage to be both comfy and restrictive all at the same time.
