2021 FORD EXPEDITION

The Ford Expedition SUV, which debuts in 2021, offers a generous amount of interior room as well as family-friendly features. If carrying up to 8 people isn’t enough, the 2021 Ford Expedition SUV has more power, cargo room, and towing capability than three-row crossover vehicles. The Expedition Max, which has a longer wheelbase than the Expedition and offers greater luggage room, is available in every trim level. At the same time, the Expedition is only available in certain trim levels. Additionally, an appearance package has been added to the Expedition’s lower-priced trims to make them more appealing. The Expedition is offered in five trim levels, the same as last year: XL, LXLT, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum.

Design, Comfort, and Quality

The 2021 Expedition combines the truck-like appearance of the F-150 with a more refined style. The broad and expressive grille, banded with chrome and scoped in with a blue oval in the center, is framed by the headlamps. The body sides have a crisp profile without being overly blocky in appearance. The doors, which are large and robust, are finished with metallic elements, which serve to balance the large glass panes and towering frame. On 18-inch wheels, the Expedition is quite acceptable; 22-inches, on the other hand, fill out the wheel arches without drawing attention to themselves.

The 2021 Ford Expedition is getting closer to the F-150 on the inside. It’s more compactly laid up, with chunky controls and information clusters grouped. The Expedition Platinum is outfitted with richer leathers and wood trim from Lincoln’s inventory to distinguish itself from even upscale competition. The Expedition’s grunt is only equaled by the size of its obscenely large servings. Its confines comfortably accommodate up to eight people with plenty of space left over for goods. That much is obvious from the shadow it casts.

The Expedition is a close second to the upscale Navigator in terms of fit and quality. All of the items listed above get a nine on our comfort rating. The Navigator can outperform you, but you’ll have to pay for it. Most levels include power-adjustable front seats with fabric upholstery and an excellent view ahead. The Expedition’s rear seats are standard on all grades. Expedition Limited and higher-trim models include leather upholstery on the seats, and they may be equipped with heaters, coolers, and even massagers.

Performance and Fuel Economy

Every Expedition is driven by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Expedition Platinum variants boost those numbers to 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet torque. Those massive curb weights, which can reach up to 5,800 pounds in Expedition Max trim with four-wheel drive, take a toll on the vehicles’ performance to some extent.

The Expedition can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around seven seconds when the turbos are engaged. The 10-speed is capable of fast switching between gear ratios, allowing the large SUV to easily keep up with interstate traffic. The most fuel-efficient configuration is a rear-drive and a small frame, which gets 17 mpg in the city, 24 on the highway, and 20 in the combined cycle. If you choose a four-wheel drive, those scores drop to 17/22/19 mpg, which is a relatively minor penalty.
