2006 Ford E-Series

[also called Ford Econoline or Ford Club Wagon]

In 2006 the famous American company ‘Ford’ has produced this series of full-sized vans named as Ford E-series. This series was to replace the F-series manufactured by ford previously.

What’s the catch?

The Ford E-Series has better fuel mileage and capacious cargo space than a Ford Excursion. The 2006 Ford E-Series Van is for holding more people while costing a minimum and is also easy to drive.

This wagon in its high duty designation (E-150 and E-350 both) offers significant benefits and is easy to put hands-on, unlike the luxury Excursion stablemate. The Ford club wagon has a cargo of volume of almost 257 cubic/ft as compared to it, the Excursion comes with a cargo space 0f 146 cubic/ft. We can say that the 2006 Ford E-series is a favorable and well-reputed vehicle as Ford has been able to sell more than six million Econoline wagons by now.

Minor updates have been introduced in the 2006 Ford E-Series Van, in terms of standard stability that has been improved. A new system for transmission has been developed that is operated electronically. Another addition has been done in towing packages.

Performance:

Four different engines are available, which primarily depends upon the model that you choose. The E-150 offers two different engines, the first being a 4.6 liter V8 and secondly, it offers a 5.4 liter V8 so there exists a difference in capacity. The specification shows that the engine with a 4.6-liter capacity can produce 225 horsepower and 286 pound-feet of torque, which is huge, in contrast, the other engine that has 5.4 liters of capacity can produce 225 horsepower and a torque of 350 lb-ft torque, which shows that 5.4-liter engine has more ability.

The E-350 super duty models and the super duty extended models have the 5.4-liter V8 engine and they give a horsepower of 225 and a torque of almost 350 lb-ft. There is an option of up-gradation, and the buyer can customize it to 6.8 liters or 6.0 liters with their respective powers and torques. The 6.8 liters of V8 engine can give 305 horsepower whereas the other one produces 235 hp.

Owner’s Manual

The 2006 Ford E-Series Owners Manual will overview routine maintenance and basic vehicle operation. A Ford E Series Owners Manual for nearly any other model year is available for quick delivery.

Added Safety:

All the models for Econoline are coming in with a standard 4-wheel installation with ABS brakes and an additional extended length E-350s feature of stability control. The rating has been quite an achievement with four out of five stars. The roomy interior complements the ratings for passengers and the driver himself.

Driving Experience:

If we talk about the drive, the Ford Econoline wagon has a different piloting mechanism, despite its passenger seating, it has been assumed that it is not a convincing choice for everyday motoring.

A little inconvenience can be observed when it comes to a tall person sitting in with a panoramic view. The suspension designs are pretty old-fashioned still when it comes to the road the Ford Econoline feels a stable drive on highways, whereas the competitors like Chevrolet Express, Dodge sprinter and GMC have more competent handling overall aa compared to the Ford.

Interior:

The interior of a vehicle matters the most and adds the most nobility to it, the ford Econoline wagon offers very comfortable seating for passengers and the driver itself. The additional driver’s chair makes a little discomfort for the people in the second row, but it surely depends on the model you choose.

It can have 8-12 seats with an additional driver’s cabin and a modest cargo capacity of 237 to 275 cubic feet.

2006 Ford E-Series Van Econoline

This vehicle comes in three variants that are available in XL and XLT trims, providing a variety for its customers to choose from.

E-150 :

This is the base trim available in both XL and XLT trims. This offers standard equipment like a tilt steering wheel, and AC for the comfort of customers. The additional Chateau trims offer the convenience of captain’s chairs in the second row, a CD/DVD player, Keyless remote entry, and running boards.

E-350 super duty:

This is a heavy-duty trim of Ford e-series vans. It also has the XL and XLT variants as well as an additional chateau model in it. This trim has standard equipment like E-150 i.e. tilt steering wheel, AC for the comfort of customers, captain’s chairs in the second row, a CD/DVD player, Keyless remote entry, and running boards. However, the individual options available include, a sliding door for cargo, a tow package, a driving seat that is supplied by power and can be adjusted in many ways, a leather interior, and a 6-CD changer player.

E-350 super duty extended:

This variant comes in all three models i.e. XL, XLT, and chateau model. It has all the standard equipment of the E-150 and E-350 super-duty models. It offers a tilt steering wheel, AC for the comfort of customers, captain’s chairs in the second row, a CD/DVD player, Keyless remote entry, running boards, a sliding door for cargo, a tow package, a driving seat that is supplied by power and can be adjusted in many ways, a leather interior, and a 6-CD changer player.

Drawbacks:

It can transport a large number of people unlike fancy vehicles and has the capacious cargo for passenger luggage. This series offers a range of powerful engines, comfortable seats, and a large number of configurations. However, like any other vehicle, it has some flaws too. The biggest drawback of this wagon series is its bad fuel economy. Moreover, it has an ungainly size and still, the legroom of the second row is not enough for some customers. It also creates a lot of wind noise that is way too disturbing.

Some practical convenience:

Apart from its powerful engine, it has some daily life practical use feedbacks about it that are very positive. According to customers who bought and recommend it:

  • It is all-purpose family transportation that can be used to haul people of all ages (kids, parents, grandparents, etc.)
  • It can be used to fetch groceries, buy furniture pieces, and take on long trips.
  • The chateau model has all the necessities and people who say it is too big, borrow it from you later.
  • It takes almost the same space required by an SUV for parking.
  • It has better visibility than other SUVs. Once you get used to it, it becomes difficult to settle for mini-vans.
