2015 Buick Enclave

The 2015 Buick Enclave is one of the safest crossovers money can buy, and its plus-sized elegant style and features wow. In its ninth year, the 2015 Buick Enclave continues to deliver attractive, versatile, and practical transportation for five to seven passengers and their belongings. After a minor stylistic update a few years ago, Enclave’s design has become nearly classic, and for 2015, it receives virtually minor modifications. A heated steering wheel is now available on select high-end trim levels, and there are a few new paint colors.

Overview of the Car

The 2015 Enclave by Buick has three different trim levels:

  • Convenience: 17 City / 24 Hwy (MPG)
  • Leather: 17 City / 24 Hwy (MPG)
  • Premium: 17 City / 24 Hwy (MPG)

Performance and Fuel Economy

The Buick Enclave isn’t extraordinary in its class, but it accelerates and handles like the finest of its contemporaries. Buick offers one motor for the Enclave, and although it’s hardly a rocket, you won’t be dissatisfied with its smooth acceleration. Although Front-wheel drive is standard, the all-wheel drive option is available for cold-weather consumers who need to go through lengthy winters. The Enclave has a towing capacity of 4,500 pounds, which is plenty for the odd toy haul to and from the lake.

Design

The Enclave’s charm is highlighted by softly designed sheet metal and a finely decorated inside. Despite being six years old, the Enclave has held up well because of its attractive style and sweeping lines. This is notably obvious compared to the relatively shapeless Chevy Traverse and very angular GMC Acadia, both of which share Enclave’s mechanical components.

The three trim levels’ prices:

  • Convenience: $39,050
  • Leather: $43,450

Interior

Since its launch, Enclave’s smooth ride and quiet interior have become even more stunning. Without being clichéd, the dash has traces of an Art Deco vibe. (Perhaps the analog clock on the dashboard gets close.) It’s modest and beautiful, and even the large touchscreen introduced last year doesn’t detract from the overall design. Those hard plastics were replaced by soft-touch materials with stitching on the inside.

Dash and Comfort

The redesigned dashboard is covered in a soft-touch material with a more decadent feel, and the woodgrain is more subtle. In other areas, Enclave’s fit and quality are excellent.

Owner’s Manual

When a buyer purchased the Enclave, a Buick Enclave Owner’s Manual was included. This manual contained all of the vehicle’s critical information for future use.

The contents of the owner’s manual covered all of the car’s functions, which included:

  • Safety and Security
  • Operation of each component
  • Driving
  • Interior Features
  • Maintenance and care
  • Vehicle specifications

The 2015 Buick Enclave Owner’s Manual includes a plethora of extra operating recommendations for the owner’s convenience.

Interior Storage

Interior storage is also substantial, with 23 cubic feet behind the third seat when the load management system is removed. When the second and third rows of seats are folded down, the Enclave has more than 115 cubic feet of cargo capacity, which is large enough for 4-by-8 sheets of construction material or any ambitious run to a big-box shop. The second row tilts forward for a greater room, although the broad back doors might be challenging to maneuver in compact parking spaces. (Perhaps this is why minivans have sliding doors?)

Safety Features of the Vehicle

Thanks to its excellent crash-test results, the 2015 Enclave is one of the safest automobiles on the road. Curtain airbags that protect all three rows of seats, front-seat side airbags, center-front airbags located on the inboard side of the driver seat, and stability control were standard on all models.
