2017 KENWORTH T680

Next-Gen SmartWheel®, Next-Gen Digital Display, fully LED headlights, and under-the-vehicle airflow management are just a few of the technical innovations found in the 2017 Kenworth T680. The sleek high-tech design blends aerodynamics and serviceability. All of these elements work together to restrict airflow closer to the cab and lessen drag-causing turbulence on the 2017 Kenworth T680 thanks to redesigned aero bumper and hood, as well as turning vanes and sturdy lower fairing extensions. T

he chassis fairings and wheel well closeouts are also included. This T680 has a lush madrona door pad insert with matching black stitching to complement the door’s black color scheme. An optional leather-wrapped steering wheel is also available for the Diamond VIT sleeper inside. The optional Kenworth Cargo Shelf, a 5.5-inch storage shelf with several secure tie-down points, is available for the T680 with 76-inch high-roof sleepers. Lighting for the bottom bed is provided by two LED lights situated on the shelf’s underside.

Driver Experience

The 2017 Kenworth T680 also contains a “Driver’s Studio,” equipped with various high-end amenities that work together to produce a luxurious, peaceful, and pleasant living environment. A 180-degree swivel passenger seat and rotating table that can fit two people and a drawer-style refrigerator, and a handy location that is excellent for a microwave make eating meals in the vehicle comfortable.

Sound and Entertainment

With a 320-watt amplifier, 10-inch subwoofer, and eight speakers as part of the premium audio package; a swivel TV mount for up to a 28-inch flat-screen TV; and the optional EpicVue pre-wire for satellite TV, Kenworth provides plenty of entertainment options.

Sleeper Comforts

This spacious room has a full-size closet for hanging clothing, many storage drawers, and a huge storage area beneath the bottom bed. There’s also an 8-inch thick luxury pocket coil mattress for when it’s time to get some restorative sleep after the day is done.

Its greater durability, decreased complexity, performance enhancements, better speeding capabilities, and more efficient combustion make it a top choice for the Environmental Protection Agency. Consequently, there is more power, longer life, more uptime, greater ease of servicing, and greater driver happiness. In addition to providing a smooth, high-performance powertrain with unrivaled capabilities, the PACCAR MX-13 engine is designed for easy interaction with the PACCAR 12-speed gearbox and PACCAR 40K axles.

Predictive Cruising and GPS

Kenworth Predictive Cruise Control combines GPS and cruise control that provides the best possible fuel efficiency. Based on topographical GPS data inputs, Predictive Cruise Control adjusts the cruising speed of a vehicle. When the vehicle reaches particular terrain, such as rolling hills, the system regulates the cruising speed to maximize performance and efficiency. For example, in the case of a truck ascending and cresting a hill, Predictive Cruising Control will allow the vehicle speed to dip slightly below the programmed cruise speed to compensate. This improves fuel efficiency since the vehicle can now maintain the predetermined cruising speed by utilizing momentum rather than fuel.

In addition to the newest technology, components, and driver conveniences, the customized 2017 Kenworth T680 Advantage show at Mid-America has several other features. In addition to a 2017 PACCAR MX-13 455-horsepower engine, a new PACCAR 40K tandem rear axle, and an Eaton Fuller Advantage® automated 10-speed gearbox, the truck is equipped with an optimized powertrain. Then there’s the lightweight Meritor MFS+TM 12,500-lb front steer axle with integrated knuckle for air disc brakes, as well as new Kenworth taper leaf lightweight springs for a smooth ride and improved handling.

In terms of driver technology features, the T680 Advantage is a powerhouse. Kenworth Nav+ HD system with virtual gauges has a high-resolution 7-inch color screen for navigation music control – including satellite radio, and internet access, according to Dozier. Predictive Cruise Control and our Driver Performance Center provide helpful technological assistance for the driver, improving fuel efficiency. Along with the Bendix® Wingman® FusionTM driver assistance system, we also included a lane departure system in our specification. In addition, the T680 is equipped with Kenworth TruckTech+ Remote Diagnostics, which helps to increase uptime by expediting service and repair at Kenworth dealerships.
