Terex T335-1 Crane

The Terex Crane T335-1 is a 35-ton capacity 3-axle telescopic truck crane with a main boom that extends from 30′ to 94′ and an optional offsettable jib that extends from 32′ to 49′. It is no longer in production. The crane’s chassis was developed and constructed by Terex, and it has a peak travel speed of 60 mpg (96 km/h). The crane is powered by a 6 x 4 drive system.

Performance and Fuel Economy

The chassis was developed and produced by Volvo CE / Terex, and it features a 6 x 4 drive. The use of all-aluminum decking enhances access while also reducing weight. Standard features include a manual gearbox with ten forward speeds, three backward speeds, and a neutral safety start. Air brakes on all four wheels with a split circuit system provide complete stopping power. Depending on the application, completely independent hydraulic outriggers may be used in three positions: fully extended to 20 feet (6.10 m), half-extended, or fully retracted. Front and rear air suspension, aluminum rims, and a tachometer are all standard equipment.

Design

The four-plate construction is welded to conserve weight and increase strength inside and out. A Terex single boom hoist cylinder enables altitudes ranging from 4° to 77°, simplifying tight radius operations and reeving changes. There is no need to detach the wedge from the socket when the boom head retracts. A 360-degree lock is the most common kind of lock.

Operator Station Comfort

An anti-two-block system with automatic function disconnects is also incorporated into the Rated Capacity Indicator system. A six-way adjustable operator’s seat with torsion bar suspensions and adjustable head and armrests is included to complete the kit. Sound and weatherproofing have been implemented to make the vehicle more comfortable. They all had a removable front window, a sliding right-hand window, and a hinged, tinted glass skylight. Armrest controls for winches, swing, and boom elevation, and foot pedals for swing brake, boom telescope, and throttle, are all situated on the footrest. The footrest also houses the throttle pedal. Waterproof and weather-resistant rocker switches. There are circuit breakers in the Terex T335-1 cab.

Capacities

Automatic disconnection mechanism and visual and audible warning system to indicate rated capacity. When looking at the second-generation pictographic display, you may see a bar graph displaying information such as arc radius, angle, boom length, allowable and actual loads, and a percentage of that allowable weight. Depending on the operator’s preferences, alarms may be set for the swing angle, boom length, tip height, and work area exclusion zone. The anti-two-block system includes automatic function disconnects and auditory and visual warnings.

T335-1 Crane Cab Features

An all-steel Terex cab with tinted safety glass, rubber floor mats, and motion cushions for enhanced visibility when the sliding door is closed, the driver may see through the tinted skylight and through the frame of the right-side framed sliding window to the cargo. The cab also has a detachable front windshield for the same reason: to provide clear visibility of the cargo when the door is open—padding made of acoustic foam functions as a noise and weather insulation. The six-way adjustable luxury operator’s chair includes mechanical suspension and armrests.

Gauges and Safety

The Terex Crane T335-1 cab’s gauges show the fuel tank level, engine oil pressure, heat, and voltage. Warnings for high coolant, low temperature, high engine oil pressure, and low coolant level and the Rated Capacity Indicator are shown on the instrument panel. This vehicle is equipped with a fire extinguisher, a windshield washer and wipers, a dome light, an L.H. rearview mirror, and a seat belt for the front passenger and driver. Circuit breakers protect electrical systems by interrupting power as necessary.
